I Love Deviantart

I love DA. I know this may sound redundant considering how often I frequent, upload art, and favourite other works like a ninja... But I love Deviantart... and to some extent it makes me mad when I see some people complaining about various things. For example... Daily Deviations... Now while I'm not going to pretend like I know every single thing about art and what just what about Mona's smile makes the Mona Lisa portrait great, I do find great enjoyment in looking through the gorgeous deviations that get a daily feature at the bottom of Deviant Art's page.

So... When I see comments on these deviations that say things like "I can't believe this got picked. It's so unoriginal/ugly/simple/dumb/et cetera" I get an itching under my skin somewhere. I mean... To be fair I haven't loved EVERY SINGLE bit of artwork that's received a DD, but I would never, in any lifetime think that the artist didn't deserve it. Someone obviously thought they did, and that someone suggested it to another someone who agreed. You were out voted... Get over it.

Now this doesn't just end at Daily Deviations. There are people who don't like DA's new layouts, or their new upgrades, or they think that their deviation was wrongly removed by a site administrator, the list goes on and on... and to be frank I'm just tired of hearing it. This website was made for artists to connect, share their work, gain exposure, gain constructive criticism... DA even offers more professional services and opportunities for those who are looking to sell themselves or their work. Then above THAT, DA doesn't discriminate art... There's a place for anything remotely creative here. Writing, Digital Painting, Traditional Painting, Photography, Sculpting, Web Coding, and Graphic Design. The higher ups on DA have made SURE to have a place for your art here, as well as a place for you.

Bottom line is, despite what you think... DA does make an effort to take care of its members, and to cater to our needs. Of course you may not have noticed this, but DA has an international member base. There are an estimated of 15 million members on this website, and the owners and administrators can't baby to you, a single person of 15 million. It doesn't matter if you paid extra for a premium membership, DA does take your opinions into consideration, but just think... Of those 15 million, how many are just like you... Crying their asses off over something minor.

I love Deviantart... It's a great place for artists to connect. If you'd stop bitching for two seconds, maybe you'd realise this too... Until then, shut the fuck up, or get the fuck out.
